#4 - Identification - Monthly Update

Time to delve some more into the lore of JICE!

The factory, which was outlined in the issue #2 of our monthly updates, is but one piece of the vast JICE corporation domain. This includes numerous planets and regions all over the galaxy, mined and processed for the highly valuable and sought after materials. This sort of establishment needs various levels of management - and one of those is called INS.

INS is the department focused on mediating and solving conflicts with the populations of sugary planets that are being mined by JICE. Who would guess that such a respectable establishment would need a whole branch for the sole purpose of resolving issues with the inhabitants? Nevertheless, it exists and does its job really well.

INS is comprised of three divisions. First one is Identification - this is the reconnaissance part of the branch. People stationed here focus on learning as much information as possible about the opposing party, while trying to avoid an open conflict. If they are sent to resolve the issue hands-on, they receive a basic weapon and various safety and agility equipment that would help them quickly traverse the largely undeveloped land.

Second unit is named Neutralization. These are the heavy troops that are involved in resolving a conflict when the Identification unit fails or deems it necessary to deal with the problem by force. This can happen when JICE is met with a major resistance force from the planet’s population.

The closing branch is called Suspension. Here you can find various lawyers, clerks and marketers that work hard on keeping JICE reputation as pristine and sweet as the product it makes. After all, truth is in the eye of the beholder! Or, something like that.

Each human stationed in a unit receives a name - first letter of their unit - so I, N or S. Main character of JICE sent to the destroyed factory is named I - that’s because she is a part of Identification unit. In the later monthly updates we will delve deeper into the equipment she received as part of the recon and possibly some more of the backstory.
