#3 - Small things - Monthly Update
One more update, coming right up!
This time we are going to highlight the things we’ve managed to accomplish so far. Nothing too special or groundbreaking - all the big things are still on their way - but it is always important to note down the nooks and crannies that help achieve the greater target.
The main thing is the character movement. We have spent some time playing around with different ideas and concepts and settled down on the tweaked version of what we already have. The movement will feel a bit faster and versatile - and that is exactly what we were trying to accomplish. On the other hand, that does mean that the current game levels won’t really be playable anymore and will need some adjustments or even a complete rework.
Secondly, we have made some changes to the current models:
- Save station will have a ramp instead of two steps - that way, it won’t hinder player’s movement as much as before;
- Jelly will have a lowered height - hopefully, this will prevent the player not being able to jump on top of the jelly when landing on its platform.
Among other points, we have managed to come up with some new ideas for more types of enemies - that includes robots and candy world related foes! We will introduce them to you once our artists are ready.
