#1 - Monthly Update
Good day to all, this is the NG+ team!
We have decided it would be a good idea to make somewhat regular updates on what we are doing and give you some insight into our work.
The month of April was the time of rethinking our strategies and inviting new people into our project. We’ve put up some posts on various gamedev spaces concerning our game and waited patiently for new help. To our surprise, quite a lot of people were interested in joining our forces - we’ve managed to find 3D-modellers, visual effects and sound designers! This means we can make new stuff AND rework what we already have to fit our vision. This is some exciting news!
That said, our plans for the nearest month include thinking through the existing wall running and jumping mechanics - things that have been of the most concern for us. We want them to be fast and smooth, while still giving the player full control over air movements. With the existing setup we can go only two ways:
- Fast air movement and low air control (as in, player being able to direct where they go).
- Slow air movement and high control.
While this is not ideal, either of those two will have to do, if our ideas do not work. This could mean fully reworking current jumping and air movement logic, and making the gameplay quite different from what was before.
But for now, this is the most important news that we wanted to share with you. Until next time!
